Q:
I want my own web site? What do I do?
A:
If you want your own web site or to get mail @your-name.com do this:
1) Decide which domain name to use. You can also choose a SUB domain name.
For more info about domains read the FAQ about domains.
2) Order an hosting account and a domain or subdomain to be used with the account.
3) Create the web site.
4) Promote the web site.
If you have other questions about this read all the FAQs and join our forum at this site and ask questions there or use other contact methods to ask more.
Q:
What are the requirements so my business web site will function properly?
A:
You need a domain name (or sub-domain) and a hosting account. A hosting account includes space to put your computer files (web site files) that promote your business. You need the domain name to point to your hosting account, so that people find the files you made that promote your business.
Q:
How much is the cost for domain Registration? Is it Yearly or can it be monthly?
A:
The cost of a domain name is usually paid annually or for 2 years at a time. It can not be monthly. The price depends very much on the domain ending (.com, .net, .org, .biz, .info etc etc) Visit http://www.247DomainShop.com to see prices of most international domain names and to test if the domain you want is available or already registered. Also see our FAQ about domain names for more info about domain names.
Q:
How about the hosting per month?
A:
Few if any hosts accept monthly payments. We accept payments for 6 months and 12 months or longer periods of time. Please also read the FAQ about hosting for additional information.
Q:
After i had made the payment, will you give me instruction how to set it up?
A:
After payment you will receive user name and password so you can access the hosting account. At that time you will get instructions where to download a free program that will help you upload (send) your business presentation files to the server your site will be on. Please view the FAQ about hosting for more info. We do not design web sites for clients, but can refer you to designers we know.
Q:
Is Email Address included? If yes, How many?
A:
Email accounts are included. How many POP3 email addresses you can have depends on how much space you have on your account. The number of forwarders (email addresses that forward email to a POP3 email address or free web email addresses is unlimited. Web-mail is also included, as all POP3 email addresses are web-mail addresses also. Full details of what is included can be found at our hosting site. For more info about email matters read our FAQ about email.
Q:
How many pages can it accomodate?
A:
1MB web space can contain approximately 1000 A4 pages withtext. Of course if you have images they might use up more space.
Q:
Can i make any changes in the site or contents?
A:
You can make changes to your site as often as you want. The content must follow the user policy and terms of service.
Q:
Does it support Date Base Application?
A:
MySQL Database is included in most of the hosting plans, but not the smallest. How much space a database needs depends on the program using the database and how many files it is to contain.
Q:
How can i get in touch with your TECHNICAL SUPPORT or Sales?
A:
Send e-mail or use the form on this site or use Yahoo Messenger. Our id is: on01com (read: on zero one dot com)

Do you provide official receipts for payments?
Which payment methods are available?
Are there any hidden fees?
Can you buy me a domain for me?
Will you place ads on my site?
Q:
Can you send a formal offer for hosting for us to study including terms and conditions, ect.?
A:
Yes, we do give formal offers by email ONLY, but we need to know what certain details about what you want included in the offer, e.g.: which hosting plan, how long you want the hosting to be (1 year or 2 years), and which domain name you want. You MUST include how much space in MB and how much
bandwidth (traffic) in MB or GB you want and how many SQL databases you want to be able to have. With out this information we do not give you any offer.
Q:
Do you provide official receipts for payments?
A:
Yes, in email receipts or socalled soft-receipts. Not signed by a human being. This kind of receipts are more and more accepted as the internet becomes the means of communication. Besides if you pay with bank deposit, you got a deposit slip. If you pay with credit card you can print out the
receipt from the webpage of the card processor. That should be ample documentation.
Q:
Which payment methods are available?
A:
Payment options are listed on the order page. Depending on which country you live in you will be offered to use bank deposit, credit card on secure server, bank to bank transfer and Western Union.
Q:
Are there any hidden fees?
A:
We have no hidden fees. All fees are listed on our website you came from. If you came directly to this site, then simply send a support request with your full name and complete address, and we will inform you about our low-cost prices.
Q:
Can you buy me a domain for me?
A:
If you don't feel comfortable buying or setting up your own domain we can offer this service for you at no extra cost. When you purchase your domain name with your account your bill will just include the price of hosting and the domain name.
Q:
Will you place ads on my site?
A:
We will not place any ads on your site.

3 Faq about Domains
Do you register domains?
How do I make my domain point to my website?
What would stop my domain from working?
What is domain name parking?
What should I consider when selecting a domain name?
What are the rules for registering a domain?
What is a Top Level Domain?
What is a Second Level Domain?
What is a SUBdomain?
I ordered a domain name and expected hosting to be included.
How much is the cost for Registration? Is it Yearly or can it be monthly?
Q:
Do you register domains?
A:
Yes, any kind of domain anywhere in the whole world. Some domains have requirements to be met which you must meet in order to qualify for registration.
Please do contact us with information about the name you would like to register, so we may assist you.
Usually we are able to get our clients good discounts on domain name registrations compared to if they just register somewhere. We make an effort to get cheap domains for our clients.
Q:
How do I make my domain point to my website?
A:
In order to get your domain name 'connected' to your website you need to update the DNS servers on your domain name to 'point' it to the name servers.
In order to make changes to your domain name delegation please first login to the website where you registered the domain. When you registered the domain you received a username and password, which you are to use to log in to the web site of your domain registrar.
You can modify your DNS details through the controls on that site, for example it can be a link like: 'Manage Domains' or 'Modify DNS'. If you have trouble with this, contact us by email and include username and password to the site, and we will handle the rest.
You will need to only enter 2 name server names. This information is provided above. Once you have made these changes please allow 24-48 hours for these changes to take effect.
Q:
What would stop my domain from working?
A:
Your domain will stop working because:
1) you did not pay for renewing it.
2) the name servers you use are unreachable
3) the name servers you use are misconfigured. If you order the domain from us it will not happen as we set the nameservers to ours by default.
Troubleshooting what is wrong can be done with some simple network tools.
Q:
What is domain name parking?
A:
It can be two things:
1) If you're not ready to host your site then you can register your domain and then leave it pointed to a default page indicating that the domain is registered but not yet being used. This is included free of charge, when you register your domain name through us.
2) Domain parking is also to let a domain name point to another active domain. Example: Your domain name is: my-business.com and it is hosted by us. You also own another domain: mybusiness.com and you park it, so that all visitors to mybusiness.com see the identical same site as those
visiting the my-business.com site. Depending on your email settings you might be able to set up emails on both the active and the parked domain name. As default this is possible with our hosting. When you create an email address (POP3 with user name & password) or an email-forwarder, you can select which domain is to be behind the @ sign.
Q:
What should I consider when selecting a domain name?
A:
Every enterprise, irrespective of size, should register its own domain name in order to establish email addresses of the form name@domain.com and a website address of the form www.domain.com. While this is a given for larger enterprises, many smaller enterprises still have not registered their own domain name. It is not adviceable for any enterprise to use an email address provided by an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or to publish a website under a sub-domain of an ISP or Web hosting service provider.
When choosing a domain name, you should keep in mind that it must be:
easy to remember;
easy to spell; and
easy to pronounce.
Short is better than long.
If your business is already established, you should follow the above rules while still maintaining a close match with your enterprises existing business or brand name.
In the case of a new business or organization, or a new brand name, you should use these rules and test if the business domain name is available as a final "test" before deciding about the new business or brand name.
Q:
What are the rules for registering a domain?
A:
The rules for registering domains do change from time to time and vary depending on which top level domain you wish to register. But all the domains have common guidelines which are set down by ICANN (http://www.icann.org). A good place to start finding out is in their FAQS
(http://icann.org/faq/).
Q:
What is a Top Level Domain?
A:
A Top Level Domain is the same as a domain name extension.
Examples: .com, .org, .net, .info, .biz, .us
Q:
What is a Second Level Domain?
A:
A Second Level Domain is the first part of what normally is called a domain name.
Example: SECOND.com where second is the second level domain.
.com is the TOP level of that domain.
Q:
What is a SUBdomain?
A:
The most common subdomain is WWW. Most websites have WWW.name.com and the WWW is the subdomain of the second level domain: name. Subdomains are often used by tv stations. http://weather.cnn.com and http://program-name.tv-station.com. Subdomains are also frequently used for free webhosting or paid special names such as profession.com where for example a lawyer might be able to get http://LAWYERNAME.lawyer.com as his subdomain for a site. Subdomains can also have www. in front of them, e.g.: http://www.lawyername.lawyer.com
Q:
I ordered a domain name and expected hosting to be included.
A:
Domain name registration and hosting of a domain name are two different services. None of them are free, even we consider our prices very affordable.
Q:
How much is the cost for Registration? Is it Yearly or can it be monthly?
A:
The cost of a domain name is usually paid annually or for 2 years at a time. It can not be monthly.
The price depends very much on the domain ending (.com, .net, .org, .biz, .info etc etc)
Visit http://www.247DomainShop.com to see prices of most international domain names and to test if the domain you want is available or already registered.

What is required for a hosting account to work?
I ordered a domain name. Is hosting not included in that price?
Do you offer CF hosting?
Will I need a private secure url?
Do I need a unique ip address?
Do you host .asp pages?
Can I pay the hosting per month?
After i had made the payment, will you give me instruction how to set it up?
Q:
What is your servers uptime percentage?
A:
On most days it is 100%. For all of 2004 it was 99.9x% and for 2005 it was 99.93%.
Q:
How long does it take for the hosting to be ready?
A:
The hosting will usually be set up with in 24 hours after confirmed payment. You should get a confirmation email with the login settings. Sometime it might take up to 24 hours for the DNS to propagate. However, the most usual for new accounts with newly registered domains is that it works with in 12 hours time.
Q:
I have paid, so why do you not set up my hosting account and send me the details like username and password so I can use the account?
A:
In order to set up a hosting account with email, ftp, www-access etc. we need a domain name or a SUB-domain. As soon as we know which domain you want the account to be set up on it will be done. The domain must be one you own or a sub-domain of one of our domains.
Q:
What is required for a hosting account to work?
A:
A domain name or sub-domain (and that you have paid - this is not free).
Q:
I ordered a domain name. Is hosting not included in that price?
A:
Domain name registration and hosting of a domain name are two different services. None of them are free, even we consider our prices very affordable.
Q:
Do you offer CF hosting?
A:
If you by CF mean Cold Fusion the answer is no.
Q:
Will I need a private secure url?
A:
Most sites do not need private secure url. Secure url is almost only used for sites that receive credit card information or very sensitive information from their users.
Example: Yahoo uses a secure url for those that are concerned about submitting username and password, when they sign in to read emails. But Yahoo also has millions of users.
Q:
Do I need a unique ip address?
A:
Unique ip is not needed for most sites. If you have a reasonable "normal" site the regular hosting plans and pricess will be enough and apply to your situation.
Q:
Do you host .asp pages?
A:
No, we do not host asp pages. The reason is first of all that asp is less safe and easier to hack, and secondly it seems to us that asp pages in general are slow to load. Our advice is for clients to use php rather than asp. PHP can handle everything that asp can do, and php is not depending on windows server technology.
Q:
Can I pay the hosting per month?
A:
Few if any hosts accept monthly payments for hosting. We accept payments for 6 months and 12 months or longer periods of time.
Q:
After i had made the payment, will you give me instruction how to set it up?
A:
After payment you will receive user name and password so you can access the hosting account. At that time you will get instructions where to download a free program that will help you upload (send) your business presentation files to the server your site will be on. We can also introduce you to setting up email, email forwarders and show you the statistic programs included. We do not design web sites for clients, but can refer you to designers we know.

5 Faq about email
What is email address?
What is email forwarding?
How do I create an email forwarder?
How can email forwarders be used for parental control?
How can email forwarders help me remember email addresses?
How can email forwarders prevent SPAM or unwanted mail?
How long does it take for email forwarding to work?
Do you provide SMTP services with the hosting plans?
Is webmail included?
Can you effectively prevent Spam from reaching to my mail box?
Q:
What is email address?
A:
Most users on the Internet have one or more unique e-mail address(es). It is a name that identifies an electronic post office box on a network where e-mail can be sent. On the Internet, all e-mail addresses have the form: anything@domain.name
For example, santaclaus@on-vacation.com
Q:
What is email forwarding?
A:
An email forwarder is an email address that does not store email sent to it, but immediately redirects or forwards or sends on the message to another email address. The destination email address can be a POP3 email address or another email forwarder.
name@yourdomain.com >> forwards to >> your-name@yahoo.com
info@yourdomain.com >> forwards to >> officestaff@yourdomain.com
Forwarders can be sent to more than one email address.
billing@yourdomain.com >> forwards to >>
officestaff@yourdomain.com
billing@yourdomain.com >> forwards to >> theboss@yourdomain.com
Q:
How do I create an email forwarder?
A:
In the Cpanel you can look under the Email section and you find the link Forwarders.
Q:
How can email forwarders be used for parental control?
A:
Give your child an email address (child-name@mybusiness.com) that redirects all email to sent his address (child-name@mybusiness.com) to another existing email address (parent@mybusiness.com).
Even if your childs email address is a POP3 email address with user name and password this is still possible to do.
This makes it possible to follow what your child does on the internet and how others communicate with your child.
Q:
How can email forwarders help me remember email addresses?
A:
Let us say your child or your friend uses a yahoo email address that you simply cannot remember: 8name87392@yahoo.com. Create an email forwarder in the Cpanel with child-name@mydomain.com or friends-name@mydomain.com and you will always remember their email address. This makes it easier to remember your childs email address when you need to send it mail and it will like to have its own email address. This can be very useful for family and friends.
e.g 8name87392@yahoo.com ----> friends-name@mydomain.com
Q:
How can email forwarders prevent SPAM or unwanted mail?
A:
Imagine you visit a website that offers an interesting FREE report about something. You do not want to continue to get mail from them, but only this one time FREE report. What you do is to go to Cpanel create a forwarder like this: domainname-com@my-domain.com and set it to forward to your POP3@my-domain.com email address. Then you subscribe with the 'domainname-com@my-domain.com' email address and after getting the report you go back to Cpanel and delete the forwarder.
Another solution that I use a lot is when someone like my insurance company or some other company ask for my email address then I create one forwarder with their name. E.g: insurance-company-name@my-domain.com and if I start to receive spam on that email address, I know exactly who has
given away my email address. Furthermore I tell the one I give the email to, what I do, so that they understand that if they do it, I will probably look for another business to deal with.
Q:
How long does it take for email forwarding to work?
A:
Email forwarding will usually be effective instantly. Since the email is a bit longer in the system, it might delay mail a little (seconds or minutes). However I never had problems with it.
Q:
Do you provide SMTP services with the hosting plans?
A:
Yes, SMTP services are included with all hosting plans. However, some ISP companies do not allow their clients to use it from their home/office computer together with a regular POP3 account. The work around this problem is to use the webmail. Log in to the webmail and send any message you want that way using your domain as SMTP.
Q:
Is webmail included?
A:
Yes. There are 3 webmail systems included. Just type your domain and then webmail: http://www.domain.com/webmail and you will be asked the username (type the complete email address!) and the password, and then you are in an area where you can select 3 types of webmail.
We prefer the Horde-system as it has some other features such as Mail, Address Book, Calendar, Memos and Tasks.
Q:
Can you effectively prevent Spam from reaching to my mail box?
A:
Yes. If you are willing to pay at least US$ 100 a month we can set you up for the most effective system. It blocks spam and virus at server level. Use the contact methods to inquire more details. The reason for the 100 dollars is that it is not our main field, and it also costs more as it requires no work from you and is extreemly effective. This is mostly for businesses.

6 FAQ about Name Servers
What are your nameservers and their ip numbers?
What is DNS?
What is a Nameserver?
Q:
What are your nameservers and their ip numbers?
A:
Few minutes after your hosting account has been set up, you will be informed in email about which 2 of our 4 nameservers your site will use.
Q:
What is DNS?
A:
DNS or the Domain Name System is an integral part of the Internet. It refers to a system of computers and databases on the Internet that are responsible for translating a Domain Name into an IP (Internet Protocol) address.
Because humans find words much easier to remember than numbers, domain names were invented to make it easier for people to remember and access various computers connected to the internet.
A Domain Name is a lot easier to remember than a bunch of numbers. For example, www.microsoft.com is assigned to the IP address 207.46.134.157.
A domain name server makes 'www.microsoft.com' resolve to the machine address 207.46.134.157 when you type it into a web browser.
Most isps will run their own name servers, so the resolution of a domain could be different based on this, they may have cached information that is no longer accurate, or they might not be able to contact the authorative name server if there is a routing problem to it.
This is what is meant by propagation delays and why changing the location of your domain name takes a while and also why your isp may have problems while another isp doesn't.
An excellent article that explains these concepts in more detail can be found at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_Name_System
Q:
What is a Nameserver?
A:
Otherwise known as a domain name server, nameservers are the magic behind the internet. Without them we'd have to remember long numbers (longer than phone numbers!) in order to send mail, surf the web etc.
Each computer attached to the internet has an IP number, which is like it's address. But to get to your favourite web site you type in a name. Behind the scenes nameservers are busily looking up the addresses of the names you type in and tell your web browser where to go.
e.g. ns1.dom23.net ns2.dom23.net

8 FAQ about backup
Do you do back-up of hosted sites, and if yes, how frequently?
Does it cost to get a site restored from back-up?
Q:
Do you do back-up of hosted sites, and if yes, how frequently?
A:
We do back-up daily, weekly and monthly. But even we have back-ups, clients are adviced to keep their
own back-up of sites.
Q:
Does it cost to get a site restored from back-up?
A:
It depends on the circumstances. If it is entirely your fault that your site is deleted, we will charge a small fee to restore your site from back-up. In case it is our error (and not at all yours) your site will of course be restored as soon as possible at no additional cost to you. This service of restoring from back-ups has not been used yet by any clients as most keep their own back-ups. Additionally the restoring from back up is not guaranteed to be the latest version of your site. It is your responsibility to have a complete copy of your files.

9 FAQ about FTP and uploading files to your web space
In what directory should i upload my site?
How do I upload my website?
Where do I upload my site too?
How do I add an FTP account in CPanel?
Q:
In what directory should i upload my site?
A:
After entering your account on the server (by using username and password), then open (click or double-click) the "public_html" folder, and transfer the files or content you want to the server.
Q:
How do I upload my website?
A:
Download a FTP Client (Example WS_FTP LE) and install it. Open your FTP Client.
Host Name/Address : yourdomain.com
Host Type: Auto (May not show up on all FTP Clients)
UserID: The UserID you use to login to your control panel
(www.yourdomain.com/cpanel)
Password: The password you use to login to your control panel
(www.yourdomain.com/cpanel)
Connect to the server. Then select the folder you want to upload your files too. If you want to upload your files to show up on your domain like www.yourdomain.com/test.php then upload your files to the "www" or "public_html" directory. If you want to upload your files to www.yourdomain.com/hello, then you need to create a "hello" directory and then upload your files to the www/hello directory.
Q:
Where do I upload my site too?
A:
You upload your site to the /home/username/public_html directory, by doing this it makes your website visible to the world.
Q:
How do I add an FTP account in CPanel?
A:
*This answer assumes you are already logged into CPanel, if not log into www.yourdomain.com/cpanel*
In the second row of CPanel, the first icon on the left is labeled as FTP Manager. Click it.
This will take you to a new page where you will see 4 choices. The top choice reads as FTP Accounts. Click it.
Now, this will take you to a new screen with a list of all existing FTP accounts for your domain and subdomain(s). You will see a link that reads as Add FTP Account. Click it.
This screen has 3 boxes which are labeled as:
Login:
Password:
Directory: /home/user/public_html
For the login box enter the username in which you will use to login to the FTP account.
In the box for Password enter the password that you'll be using to login to the FTP account with. It is best to use a combination of letters and numbers for your password as to make it more secure.
Lastly, for the Directory box you have to enter the directory that the FTP account is for. If you want to the
FTP account to have access to all domain and subdomain files then leave this box blank. Otherwise, type in the directory which the FTP account will have access to. For example:
You have the subdomain sub.domain.com and want to set the FTP account to have access to only this subdomain. In the Directory box enter sub. Now, the account will have access to only the directory for this subdomain.
When you are finished entering the required information click the button labeled as Create and you will be taken to a screen which will tell you that you have successfully created a new FTP account and it will display the login information. Your new FTP account is now active.

10 FAQ about website promotion
Why do I need to promote my website?
How do I promote my website using search engines?
Can you mention some places where I can promote my site?
Q:
Why do I need to promote my website?
A:
Once you have a website you must inform the world about it, so they will find you. That it exists on the internet does not mean that you will have 1000 visitors the next day. According to various sources search engines, pay-per-click search engines and directories deliver 80% of traffic to most websites. Linking to other websites is much used as acknowledgement of other websites value. So if your site has good content others might start to link to your website and that way give you some traffic. If it is a business website, you will of course put the domain name on your business paper, envelopes, calling cards and any advertisements in traditional paper media as well as tv, radio and online adverts.
Online promotion of websites is a whole industry in itself and cannot be covered sufficiently in a FAQ like this.
Q:
How do I promote my website using search engines?
A:
The most cost-effective way to promote your website is to ensure it features prominently on the search results pages of the major search engines when users type in search terms relevant to your site.
Although Web users generally use the generic term "search engine" to describe:
1) search engines,
2) pay-per-click search engines, and
3) directories,
These are in fact three distinct types of search tools employed by Web users to discover websites relevant to their search query.
As an enterprise owner/manager, it is important you understand how each type of search tool operates in order to achieve a prominent listing for your website. Achieving a prominent listing on each type of search tool is important because it is the most cost-effective way to promote your website.
Q:
Can you mention some places where I can promote my site?
A:
We can mention some, but there are hundreds and thousands more. You can get a lot of targeted visitors by submitting to geographical or specific-business-branch directories that match the content of your site. Most have rules or guidelines and some require link-back or even a linked button prior to accepting your site. Read the directions of each site carefully in order not to be listed the wrong place or getting disqualified.
These web-addresses might change, but as of early 2006 these work:
https://ecom.yahoo.com/dir/submit/intro/
http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
http://dmoz.org/add.html
For Philippine domain owners Find.PH is good.
All .ph, .com.ph, .net.ph, .org.ph, .gov.ph, .edu.ph, i.ph, .mil.ph domains are wellcome:
http://www.find.ph/link_submit.php.
It is required to sign up, but it is free to sign up and to promote your site. This enables you to edit the description and title of your site later, if the content changes or you find better key words etc.

11 FAQ about unanswered questions in this system
Q:
